Building better people.

Where do you draw the line on what is opinion, what is religion, and what is factual. I think the perfect solution would be a class such as this amazing one we are taking. One that provides an overview of the major religions and/or philosophies but delivered at an early age. I deeply wish I had this class when I was about 13 and realizing there was more to the world than me and my personal needs, and not knowing how I fit into it or even how to search for purpose and meaning in life. Not realizing the power I have to change it. Really though I think I would have benefited even more right from the start of my education so that it would be fundamental understanding.

However, my original idea was to teach the fundamental concepts where almost all major religions overlap. Benevolence, compassion, self improvement, working for the good of the whole, not leting short term gains compromise long term goals, and so on.

I also just realized that perhaps this is what private schools are for but then again I dont believe that wisdom should be accessible only to those who can afford private schools.
